Maintenance Craftsperson (Electrician) (Ref: 169270)

Fixed term for 3 years

Full Time – 37.5 hours per week

Band 5 - Salary Range £30,229 - £37,664 per annum

Distant Island Allowance of £2,256 per annum (pro rata for part-time & fixed term positions)

Relocation Assistance of up to £8000 available


This contract is fixed-term for 3 years. The reason for the fixed-term contract is due to organisational changes in staff structure.


We are looking for a Maintenance Craftsperson (Electrician) to assist in the inspection and upkeep of all NHS property & systems and to ensure that routine planned / breakdown maintenance & fault finding on electrical systems is carried out. You will have particular responsibilities for fixed electrical cabling & distribution systems, plant & equipment, electrical & control systems relating to heating & ventilation systems, steam boilers, compressors, stand-by generators, domestic boilers, sterilization plant, hospital beds, trolleys & floor cleaning equipment.  This is not a comprehensive list of duties but is indicative of the wide range of equipment within the NHS Estate that you will be expected to service & maintain.


You will be an experienced engineer with an electrical background & will possess a recognised apprenticeship in electrical engineering, City & Guilds Certificate or equivalent. You will be able to work on your own initiative, must possess a full driving licence.
