NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
This is a full-time post of 37.5 hours a week with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.
You must be Registered with Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
This post will be based within the Occupational Therapy Community Adult Mental Health service based initially in Riverside Resource Centre in Glasgow’s vibrant west end. The post holder will deliver occupational therapy assessments and interventions to patients with severe
and/or enduring mental health problems. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team and the North West Occupational Therapy team. Applicants should be able to demonstrate core occupational therapy skills and the ability to evaluate interventions. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with relatives, carers and partner organisations is essential to the post. The successful candidate will be expected to supervise occupational therapy students once established in post and contribute to the overall development of the service. The service provides regular supervision and opportunities for continuous professional development. The successful candidate will be part of a well-established Occupational Therapy service which focuses on evidence based practice and effective multidisciplinary working.
