Applications are invited from suitably experienced and qualified Clinical Technologists and Engineers for the post of Chief Clinical Technologist in the Department of Medical Physics and Bio-Engineering based at Lorn & Islands Hospital in Oban.


The appointee will lead and manage a small team covering the Argyll & Bute area which stretches from Oban to Campbeltown and encompasses many of the Scottish Inner Hebridean islands. They will have responsibility for managing and participating in the servicing and maintenance of a wide range of medical equipment throughout the area. To be successful in the role they will require communication, management, and logistics skills alongside their technical knowledge.  


The post requires an honours degree in an appropriate discipline and significant experience in medical equipment management, with knowledge across the field, suitable to the wide advisory and planning influence of this role. Alternatively, candidates with extensive, relevant experience of managing medical equipment will also be considered.


Registration with the Register for Clinical Technologists (RCT) or other appropriate professional body, is desirable.

Candidates must hold a full UK driving licence.

Hybrid working arrangements may be available, subject to agreement.
