We are looking for a new Head of Nursing for the Heart & Lung Division with the skills to both inspire and deliver as we seek to bring the very best patient care across our full portfolio of services.  The role of Head of Nursing requires a clinically credible practitioner with extensive nursing experience and current leadership and management experience. You will be able to role model compassionate, collaborative leadership with a strong commitment to supporting and developing others.

The post holder will join the Heart Lung and Diagnostics Division that delivers care for patients from the West of Scotland who have Cardiac, Cardiology and Thoracic care needs.  NHS Golden Jubilee is the home of the Scottish National Heart Transplant Centre, which is delivered within the HLD Division.

The post holder will be a key contributor in the delivery of safe, effective and person centred, compassionate care.  Key to your success will be your ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships with a wide range of clinical and non-clinical staff across NHS GJ.  Integral to this role will be providing professional leadership, management and advice to our nursing staff and other colleagues within the Division and to the wider hospital. 

Candidates will require to have a proven track record accompanied with experience in a senior professional nurse leadership role. You will have successful experience of managing patient safety, service improvement and quality. .  High level clinical and leadership credibility is a pre-requisite as are excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to think strategically and analytically, good influencing and negotiation skills alongside the ability to deliver change.

Candidates must hold current registration as a Nurse with the UK NMC and be educated to  degree level with evidence of postgraduate study , preferably a Masters qualification(or equivalent).
