Healthcare Improvement Scotland is the national improvement agency for health and social care in Scotland, supporting health and social care services to improve across all our work programmes. We are seeking to recruit Senior Improvement Advisors to our People Led Care Portfolio and Primary Care Improvement Portfolio.

In these roles, you will work closely with senior leaders to drive impactful system change. You will be the delivery lead responsible for the overall management of a programme, providing relationship management, improvement and redesign expertise, and quality improvement support. The roles require pace, adaptability and the ability to navigate complexity. The ideal candidates will work autonomously and be proactive problem-solvers. If you are a forward-thinking person with a proven track record of leading national improvement programmes, we look forward to receiving your application.

Coming Home Programme, People-Led Care Portfolio – 1 post, full time, fixed term to December 2025

The Coming Home Programme is part of the Community Engagement and System Redesign Directorate. This programme is designed to bring people with complex learning disabilities home to their own communities, reducing the use of out of area placements.

The focus of the programme is to set up and deliver a Peer Support Network. The network will bring together professionals from Health and Social Care Partnerships and other stakeholders, including family members and housing and third sector organisations. The network will cover identified themes and will support areas to learn from each other, identify challenges and support each other to come up with solutions. The delivery lead will identify how best to ensure that participants are supported to implement these solutions. This will include providing targeted improvement support to individual areas. Candidates will bring an understanding of the social work and social care sector and the current challenges and opportunities within that sector.

Please note that Healthcare Improvement Scotland offices are closed over the festive period. For an informal discussion about this post, please contact Chris Sutton, Portfolio Lead, at chris.sutton@nhs.scot by Monday 18 December 2023.
