This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of clinicians providing CAMH services to care experienced young people across the North Highland region.
Applicants should have suitable experience working with care experienced young people and those who care for them, and working with children and young people who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health and wellbeing.
CAMHS in north NHS Highland is a specialist multi-disciplinary team based in Inverness, but providing clinics across a large rural geography. We also have clinicians based in more remote localities who are supported by the centrally based team.
The post holder(s) will be part of the CAMHS CEYP team, which is partly commissioned by the Highland Council, to promote the psychological wellbeing of young people who are care experienced (living within residential and foster placements and adoptive families) and to maintain them in placements within the Highland area. The post is varied and includes direct clinical work with children, young people and their carers and also indirect clinical work offering consultation, training and support to residential teams, foster carers and professional networks. The team work within a trauma informed and relationally focussed framework, and hold central to their practice an aim to meet The Promise and support others to do so.
This particular post will provide the opportunity to develop existing skills in working therapeutically with children, young people and their care givers, through working closely with other team members, supervised practice and CPD opportunities.
Highland offers many positive lifestyle opportunities, with both the benefits of rural living (including snow sports, hill walking, kayaking and more) and city life in Inverness allowing access to shopping, restaurants and theatre.
A relocation package may be available and can be considered.
Please note if you wish to apply for this post on a secondment basis, please complete the secondment consent form below and return to nhshighland.recruitment@nhs.scot, in addition to completing a full application form.
