Job Advert
The Role
The Post holder will support the development and implementation of group work within the Adult Psychological Team (PTT) through the influencing of staff and lead consultants in the PTTs.
Additional Information Specific to the Role
The PTT exists to address the psychological needs of adults residing in the Lanarkshire area. As well as providing clinical assessment, formulation and intervention, the service has responsibilities for consultation, teaching and supervision.
As an 8B within the Clydesdale PTT the post-holder will, as a senior clinician, support the Lead Consultant within Clydesdale PTT. The post-holder will routinely undertake a role deputising for the Lead Consultant where required, e.g. at weekly referral allocation and MDT meetings with the CMHT; Locality team meetings; representing the service at various meetings; liaison with local referrers and delegated management responsibilities for staff, such as Turas appraisals, Job Planning and sickness absence management.
A core focus of the role will be to lead the further development of group work within the PTTs including a long-term strategy across all localities. It is expected that a QI methodology will be used in this process. The post-holder will be expected to liaise with other specialist psychological services as required (e.g. Digital Services). Close collaborative working will be required with all PTT Lead Consultants. This will include developing individual staff skills in the use of groups as psychological intervention. The post holder will also have an overview of all groups being delivered (F2F or digitally) across all PTT localities and will be required to produce regular updates and reports. An important aspect of this role will be supporting the development of the wider workforce in relation to the competencies required to facilitate groups including working alongside multi-disciplinary colleagues and third sector partners to promote MDT working and collaboration. The importance of Expert by Experience involvement in service delivery is noted and there is an expectation that the post-holder will actively seek opportunities to work alongside Experts by Experience to inform service design and delivery.
Clinical work will be at a level appropriate to the grade of this role; in addition to carrying a small individual clinical caseload (likely one session per week), the majority of the clinical work of this post holder is expected to be in the delivery of group interventions on a pan-Lanarkshire basis.
