In December 2017 we moved into our new 350 en-suite bedroom acute hospital; allowing us to deliver safe and person centred acute care for our community in outstanding facilities.
We are looking for a Nurse Director to provide professional and strategic leadership across the Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional workforce. As a key member of the Senior Management Team and an Executive Director of the Board you will carry a portfolio of responsibility including public protection, clinical governance, patient safety and risk management, patient experience and quality improvement, and the prevention and control of infection.
We are looking for someone who will be instrumental in working with our workforce colleagues and nurse leads to build a sustainable and developed nursing, midwifery and allied health workforce for the future. It is essential that that our new Executive Nurse Director continues the excellent work of piloting new and innovative ways of recruiting and developing staff in order to meet future workforce challenges.
Educated to Masters Level or equivalent, you will have already demonstrated your expertise as a compassionate, values based inspirational nurse leader in a complex healthcare organisation. You will have a track record of leading and delivering transformational change to clinical services, working collaboratively with partners.
Dumfries & Galloway is situated in the Southwest of Scotland amongst some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK. The town of Dumfries is located approximately one hour from the Lake District and has good transport links to major cities including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Belfast. The region is renowned for excellent schools and educational facilities, together with a range of leisure and cultural facilities and the many other advantages associated with rural and semi-rural living.
