An exciting development opportunity has arisen for the role of Sector Library Manager (North) 

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is the largest healthcare provider in Scotland, serving a population of approximately 1.3m, through the provision of a comprehensive range of Acute, Mental Health and Community Care services.  The Board also provides cross-border and Regional services. The role offers a unique and rewarding career, working closely with health care professionals you will be responsible for provision of services from two libraries (Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhill Hospital). The Department is responsible for the delivery of board-wide knowledge services, this includes the management of the physical library space and the resources gathered therein. The post involves working across all clinical specialties as well as with other NHS Scotland Boards and other key internal and external stakeholders.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate considerable experience in interpersonal skills and have highly developed communication and organisational skills, in addition to customer service and problem-solving skills. Management experience and competencies, well-developed leadership and time management skills are required, along with the ability to set and meet deadlines under pressure.

NHSGGC has an ambitious 2023-2028 Digital Strategy (LINK) and Knowledge Services is pivotal to supporting the delivery of transformational change. Services are continually evolving as technology develops and new pathways emerge therefore the post holder will need to be agile and dynamic in managing change while maintaining a patient centred focus.

You should be qualified to degree level with either an undergraduate degree or post graduate qualification in librarianship, information, or knowledge management or equivalent, with post-qualification library experience and a proven track record in library & Knowledge Services
