3 exciting opportunities have arisen to join our Band 6 Deputy Charge Nurse Team within the Emergency Department. As a Deputy Charge Nurse working within the Emergency Department at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team of which the post holder will have responsibility for assessment of care needs, evaluation of care plans and ensuring the delivery of the highest quality care to patients. In the absence of a Senior Charge Nurse, the post holder will have continuing responsibility for the management of the department, including supervision and deployment of staff.

The post holder has responsibility and accountability for maintaining both clinical and staff governance.

You will provide strong leadership, excellent communication skills and have the ability to develop and support staff with clinical expertise. You will be expected to function effectively under pressure without compromising basic standards of care and professionalism.

You must have advanced clinical expertise and be willing to participate in research and audit projects. You will be able to demonstrate that you can manage a dedicated team to deliver nursing care of the highest standards to our patients, while working under pressure. Considerable post-qualification experience in emergency nursing or relevant nursing speciality is essential.

Hours: 37.5hrs per week - working rotational shift pattern over 7 days including both days and nights (12.5hr shifts)
