This is a fulltime post of 37.5 hours per week with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday.


Band 3 Healthcare support worker is required for our busy Day Surgery Unit. The theatre department at The New Victoria Hospital Day Surgery Unit consists of 8 theatres with associated recovery facility and admission and discharge unit. It also includes a treatment room and a 23 hour stay ward. We offer a variety of specialties including Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, General, Maxilla facial and Gynaecology. The department is fully committed to increasing our capacity to care for increasingly complex patients as per the British association of Days Surgery recommendations. As part of the multidisciplinary team it is essential that you have good numeracy/ literacy skills and experience working with members of public. Previous experience of working in a clinical environment is preferable. Candidates should have a flexible committed approach and work to a high standard within the multi-disciplinary team. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative but also as part of an integrated team and will take a sensitive and caring approach to people. You are required to demonstrate flexibility within your working week and within south sector. Furthermore, you will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service.
