An exciting opportunity is available for a permanent 0.5wte (18.75 hours) Band 7 Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the Acute Paediatric Occupational Therapy Service leading the OT contribution to the Major Trauma Service. This post is based in the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, working with children and young people aged 0-18 years. You will provide highly skilled, evidence-based Occupational Therapy to inpatients referred to the service.

The Acute OT service is part of Specialist Children’s Services providing an in-reach service to the hospital. Within SCS OT Service we pride ourselves on ensuring that we are delivering a safe, effective, efficient, equitable and patient-centred Occupational Therapy Service which is sustainable into the future.

We are looking for a forward-thinking, experienced OT who is highly motivated and enthusiastic to join our team.

Working pattern – post available is 0.5wte (18.75 hours) The working pattern can be negotiated but must include a Monday, and the remaining hours worked weekdays between the hours of 8.00am-4.30pm

The post holder requires to have:
• A degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy,
• HCPC registered
• Considerable post graduate experience with a highly specialist level of relevant clinical knowledge.
• Previous experience working within Paediatrics, or in an acute/hospital setting.
• Evidence of ability to work as a team player with excellent communication skills and evidence of emotional intelligence are essential for this post
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment,
• Awareness of trauma informed practice

Desirable:
• Knowledge and training in the use of Quality Improvement and able to apply this methodology to improve services locally
• Previous experience in setting up a new service
• Previous experience in physical and cognitive rehabilitation
