An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community based Senior Charge Midwife (SCM) / Team Leader to join our Maternity Services in Dumfries and Galloway. You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of midwives and maternity care assistants who are based primarily in the Wigtownshire and Stewartry areas of Dumfries and Galloway, but working in close collaboration with other SCM’s / Community Team Leaders across the region to support the overall community maternity services ensuring an excellent standard of care for women and their families.  
We are a small team committed to providing family centred, evidence informed care to all families that access our service. As an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated midwife, knowledgeable in all areas of midwifery practice, you will require excellent communication skills to maintain supportive and accessible leadership and management for the team which covers some of the most remote and rural areas of the region.
It is essential that you bring a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the challenge of this role, leading on service improvements including the ongoing implementation of the principles of continuity within the community to improve the patient experience and supporting the provision of a home birth service to enhance choice of place of birth.
