Programme Manager
About the Organisation:
The National Specialist and Screening Directorate plans, funds and co-ordinates national specialist and screening services on behalf of NHS Boards and the Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorates. It facilitates service change across NHS Scotland to ensure consistent, equitable provision of high quality, safe, effective, person-centred services to meet the needs of the population of Scotland.
The Post:
Within NSD the National Network Management Service (NNMS) commissions a wide range of national clinical and diagnostic networks. It provides consistent, high quality managerial and operational support to enable networks to deliver their aims and objectives to standards and timescales specified in service agreements. With our support, the networks can focus on what they are set up to do – adding value to healthcare in Scotland by supporting safe, effective, person-centred care.
We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to join our team. They will be responsible for establishing support structures and the planning for an executive board and associated change projects. Applicants should be educated to degree level and should have a proven track record of leading and driving improvements in healthcare through effective use of recognised project and improvement methodologies. The post requires excellent leadership, influencing, organisational skills and the ability to produce written work of the highest quality.
Networks include service users and managers, health and other professionals from education, social care and voluntary organisations. Engaging with stakeholders at this level requires the postholder to be able to nurture relationships across professional, organisational and geographical boundaries and commit to occasional out of hours work. Frequent travel throughout Scotland is also required. A pool/hire car is available for business use.
Location and Working Pattern:
Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.
Currently hybrid working.
The work pattern is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
