Job Title: AHP Team Lead

Hours: 37.5 hours Permanent – open to part time or job share options


We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative and experienced Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join our Rapid Assessment for Discharge (RAD) team and medical team at the Borders General Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to professionally lead and operationally manage an established team consisting of specialist therapists, rotational therapists and therapy support staff. You will have excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate experience across the NMAHP Pillars of Practice (Clinical, Leadership, Facilitating Learning, Evidence/Research & Development).


Clinically, you will apply advanced judgement and decision making skills to triage and assess complex clinical presentations in a fast-paced, acute setting. You will have significant experience working with people presenting with long term conditions and frailty. You will work collaboratively across the whole system in prevention of admission, early identification of frailty and discharge to assess models.


The post holder will prioritise the development of a culture of learning, personal and professional development as described within NMAHP Development Framework. This will be supported through effective Support & Supervision, TURAS Appraisal and formal & informal learning and innovative contemporary student placements.


Ongoing personal and professional development is essential to provide a quality service and is supported through CPD, appraisals and in-service training.
