We are inviting applications from enthusiastic individuals to become a Technical Officer, based in the People and Culture Directorate’s HR Service Centre.
The HR Service Centre (HRSC) is responsible for a number of components of the employment experience including engaging new employees to our HR, rostering and payroll systems; maintaining and updating employee details and records, administering maternity leave; organising ward and clinic rosters; calculating pension payments on retirement and payment of employee salaries. HRSC uses a number of systems and applications to carry out its operations and these require a range of checks, metrics reporting and technical support.
The Technical Officer postholder will be responsible for providing assistance to HRSC teams in the form of technical support, developing and deploying solutions and creation and monitoring of reports and metrics. The Technical Officer will also be tasked with assisting HRSC to be involved in the creation of new processes or modernising existing ones using available software and technology.
Applicants should be educated to HNC level, or have equivalent experience in a similar setting, and have a proven ability to manage a diverse workload whist working to deadlines. Applicant should also have well developed skills and knowledge in using various Microsoft Office and/or 365 applications and an advanced level of confidence in using computers and software. A keen eye for attention to detail is required as well as maintaining high standards of accuracy. Good communications skills and a team player are also a key requirements of this post. Experience with using NHS Scotland Workforce Systems is an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.
The successful applicants will be based at Westholme, Woodend Hospital, Aberdeen.
