What you will do:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two experienced pharmacists with a desire to develop people to join our pharmacy education and training team providing specialist pharmacy and medical education within NHS Ayrshire & Arran across hospital and/or primary care.

There are two posts available:

  • 37.5 hours post with time equally split between education and training, and providing a clinical pharmacy service to designated medical wards at University Hospital Crosshouse.
  • 37.5 hours post with time equally split between education and training and providing a clinical pharmacy service to a defined group of GP practices.

A key focus of these roles is co-ordinating the delivery of experiential learning for undergraduate pharmacy students, and supporting initial education and training programmes for student pharmacists and early career pharmacists.

Both post holders (especially the acute post) will also support the education of junior doctors and undergraduate medical students including inter –professional training by contributing to our well established prescribing education programme.

You will liaise with other education and training pharmacists in Scotland, with NES and the Schools of Pharmacy at the University of Strathclyde and Robert Gordon University.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

With a Master of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent and current GPhC registration (including evidence of continuing professional development), you will also possess Vocational Training (Foundation) or training experience to an equivalent level.

You will be supported to develop across all 5 domains of practice aligned to the RPS Core Advanced Pharmacist Curriculum.

Hours:

You will participate in departmental weekend, late night, public holiday and on call/extended hour’s rotas as required. In accordance with AFC terms and conditions you may be required to work over 7 days and/or an extended working week.



Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

Driving licence and car ownership is essential to this role.
