B6 IRH adult acute and Inverclyde Rehabilitation and Enablement Service
Full Time Band 6 - 37.5 hours
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a speech and language therapist to work across acute and community services within Inverclyde. This post offers a unique caseload mix, combining input to the Inverclyde Royal Hospital (IRH) Adult Acute service (0.6) and the Inverclyde Rehabilitation and Enablement Service (0.4). This full time post is based between IRH, Greenock and The Centre for Independent Living, Greenock.
The IRH adult acquired team provide input to a range of in patients across medical and rehabilitation wards and offer an outpatient service to patients with a range of aetiologies.
Inverclyde Rehabilitation and Enablement Service (RES) provides interdisciplinary care to patients over the age of 65 years with a range of acquired communication and swallowing needs due to varying aetiologies. AHPs within this service work collaboratively to provide a community service across the Inverclyde area. This service model ensures patient centred meaningful outcomes for patients and their support networks throughout the complete patient journey. High value is placed on SLT’s contribution to Inverclyde RES and collaborative multi-agency working.
We are a friendly, dynamic and forward-thinking team which offers excellent support within both acute and community, supervision and a range of continued professional development and networking opportunities. Strong links exist within SLT in the Inverclyde area across acute and community services. There is a new SLT structure within Inverclyde RES and this is an excellent opportunity to work alongside the new B7 SLT to build on the existing SLT service.
It is essential that you have a degree in Speech and Language Therapy with current HCPC registration and have completed dysphagia training. The successful candidate will be required to participate in the acute service innovative weekend working rota. The candidate will also be required to travel across community settings within Inverclyde for the RES component of the post.
