Shift pattern: Mon-Fri – 9am-5pm.

A Registered Children’s Senior Staff Nurse Band 6 (37.5 hours per week) is required for Specialist Children’s Services, to work within the Glasgow Community Children’s Nursing Team.

You will be expected to provide an accessible, appropriate, high quality, culturally sensitive and effective nursing service to the 0-19 year age group in the community and Schools by working in partnership with service users, care providers and other agencies.

Under direction of the Team Lead the post holder will be responsible for the management of a caseload and leading and managing a team of qualified nursing staff and Health Care Support Workers.

In the context of developing services the post holder requires to be flexible and responsive to the needs of individual clients and the service, supporting management, and engaging in review. They will also have responsibility for audit and service evaluation, as appropriate under direction of the team lead.

The post holder will have continuing responsibility for delegation of work to team members, supervision of staff and service improvement.  They will be an NMC nurse with relevant experience of working with children, young people and families, who will support the SCP Nursing service in delivering care to service users / families within the caseload from any of the Specialist Community Paediatric pathways (CCN Home / ASL, Vulnerability and Complex Disability).

As part of NHS Greater Glasgow and
Clyde's pre employment checking for all appointed candidates, evidence of current NMC registration will be required prior to start date. You should therefore note candidates who are unable to provide confirmation of current NMC registration, in line with projected start date for this post, may not be shortlisted for interview. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.

It is essential that all applicants have 2 years post registration experience. Community nursing experience is desirable the post holder will be expected to work throughout the NHS Greater Glasgow area. 

A Car Driver is essential.
