The shift pattern for this position is working within a service that runs over a seven day week and includes out of hours working.
As part of an enhanced network of care for major trauma patients in Scotland, the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital has been identified as one of four major trauma centres. Due to this expanding service we are looking for experienced perioperative staff with expert perioperative skills to support this development within the Adult Theatres at the QEUH.
We can expand your skills and knowledge across a fascinating and diverse range of cases. Our enthusiastic education team will guide and support your learning and education development in the Perioperative roles.
You will be a First Level Registered Nurse trained in general nursing or adult nursing or a Registered Operating Department Practitioner. Experience in scrub/theatre practice and/or Anaesthetics and/or recovery is desirable.
As part of the multidisciplinary team you will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of a programme of care and the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients within the perioperative department. The ability to work on your own initiative but also as part of an integrated team is required. You are required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service that runs over a seven day week and includes out of hours working.
Furthermore, you will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NS Greater Glasgow and Clyde South Sector in order to achieve the needs of the service. As part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s pre-employment checking for all appointed candidates, evidence of current NMC/HCPC registration will be required prior to start date. You should therefore not candidates who are unable to provide confirmation of current NMC/HCPC registration, in line with projected start date for this post, may not be shortlisted for interview.
