What you will do:
The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) is a national, evidence based early intervention programme for first time mothers and their families. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our current team of Family Nurses in Ayrshire and Arran based primarily in Symington Health Centre.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
You must be a Registered Nurse or Midwife, with current NMC registration and be educated to degree level. Masters level education or able to demonstrate clinical practice at masters level is essential. Reflective practice and clinical supervision are integral to Family Nursing as are the ability to work effectively in a supportive, progressive and dynamic team. There is an essential requirement to undertake specialist post graduate training with assessed competency as well as a desire to undertake personal study to develop understanding of a range of clinical areas. You should have understanding, interpretation and practice experience of working with families in the community particularly where child protection processes have been required. Knowledge of national and local polices in place to protect children is essential. A working knowledge of Getting It Right For Every Child, using a trauma informed approach and legislation relating to children and young people are essential. Experience of midwifery, child health, public health and home visiting is necessary as is a passion for the FNP philosophy of its strengths based approach.
You will require to be available to attend all mandatory FNP Education over an 18-month period. Education is facilitated using a hybrid model of online and face to face education, some of which is residential. The first module, Foundations in FNP Practice begins with learning, at the FNP site and online from 4th-8th March 2024, followed by 5 days residential from 11th March 2024.
All new Family Nurses will have the option to undertake the Professional Diploma in Family Nursing, which on successful completion, will result in the award of 60 Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Level 11 points.

Hours:
37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
