Senior Specialist HR Advisor

The Post: 
NSS Human Resources Centre of Expertise is looking for a Senior Specialist HR Adviser to lead and operationally manage the specialist Pay, Terms Conditions, Redeployment and Organisational Change service as part of our Employee Relations and Reward team.

You will lead the provision of highly specialist HR advice, guidance and support across NSS and to Public Health Scotland, as part of the delivery of an HR shared service. You will engage with a wide range of stakeholders within both organisations and the wider NHS community.

Working as a member of our HR Operational Team you will work in collaboration to ensure operational service delivery is effectively delivered within established quality, performance and governance frameworks.

The Candidate:
To be successful in this role, you should be educated to degree level or have the equivalent experience. You will be a Chartered Member of CIPD or equivalent and have an up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation with evidence of continuous professional development.

You will have experience of job evaluation process and experience of advising on grading and extensive experience of providing specialist advice in areas such as organisational change, service redesign, terms and conditions, pay and rewards and HR Policy.

You will have considerable experience of planning and performance management of HR service provision including a track record of delivery against targets and timescales.

It is essential that you have the ability to analyse complex data and use the findings to support informed decisions and resolution of issues. You will also have strong and sound decision making and problem-solving abilities.

You will possess highly effective communication and influencing skills and be able to build effective relationships with all stakeholders.  You should have the ability to prioritise your workload effectively whilst managing competing demands.

Location and Working Pattern:
Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow

Currently hybrid working

The work pattern is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
