MEDICAL PHYSICS DEPARTMENT – ROYAL HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN

SPECIALIST CLINICAL TECHNOLOGIST – MEDICAL EQUIPMENT MANAGMENT

BAND 6 – 37.5

POST REF: 171125

You will join a team providing a clinical physics and bio-engineering service to health care establishments. You will join the Medical Equipment Management section based at the Royal Hospital for Children.

The service includes the installation, commissioning, calibration, performance assurance and repair of a wide range of medical equipment.  In addition, staff undertake duties in accordance with the quality system operated.

Applicants should possess a relevant science/technology-based degree (BSc) or equivalent e.g. a relevant HNC/HND in an appropriate subject, may be acceptable provided there is an equivalent profile of knowledge, training and experience to BSc level.

Registration with the Register for Clinical Technologists (RCT) or other appropriate professional body, is desirable.

Significant demonstrable experience as a Practitioner Clinical Technologist (Medical Physics) evidenced either through successful completion of IPEM Diploma / Diploma in Healthcare Technology Management / Membership of the Register of Clinical Technologists or equivalent training.

Competencies must include; Practical experience of repair and maintenance on a broad range of complex medical equipment. Experience of a range of equipment management processes. Application of technology to medical equipment in healthcare. Communication with other healthcare professionals
