Assistant Psychologists Adult Mental Health : 37.5 hours/week : Fixed term 12 months
A vacancy has arisen in the Department of Psychological Services and Research for an Assistant Psychologist to work within our Adult Mental Health Psychology specialty. Applications are invited from an enthusiastic and energetic individual to support the development of our Groups programme with AMH and will involve logistical and practical tasks in setting up the Groups, evaluation of outcomes of the groups and potential for some involvement in co-facilitation.
This role will also involve assisting in the monitoring of HEAT target outcomes, capacity and efficiency measurement which will enable more accurate reporting and compliance with Government targets. The post-holder will work directly with Clinical Psychologists and other Mental Health practitioners to select and secure appropriate psychological assessment measures and to facilitate the development, implementation and standardization of appropriate outcome measures for new developments.
The department has a complement of over 80 staff and offers a supportive environment for assistants and psychological therapists who are looking to initiate or develop their skills and extend their experience and scope of practice in recognised psychological therapies. There is protected CPD and supervision time.
The Department has Clinical Psychologists and Psychological Therapists in all major specialities and it is a friendly, supportive and lively place to work. All our staff are co-located in the same building and have close links with other teams in mental health and CAMHS.
Dumfries & Galloway is situated in the South West of Scotland and you can reach Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Carlisle or even Belfast from our region. Dumfries and Galloway offers a lively and friendly atmosphere as well as easy access to outdoor space, the Solway Coast, many Lochs and the Southern Upland way as well as many historic and beautiful locations in between.
Flexible working arrangements may be considered to allow for a blended approach of home and office working, depending on service or clinical need.
