The Role

You will work as an Advanced Practitioner within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team at HMP Shotts. You will work as a Band 7 Advanced Practitioner to clinically review and prescribe appropriately to patients within HMP Shotts, be able to liaise with staff in service. You will Report to the AHSU management team as appropriate and partake in working groups to improve patient care.

What we'll need you to bring

  • Registered Nurse / AHP / Pharmacist with valid NMC/HCPC / GPHC Registration.

  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced clinical practice and expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently. 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.

  • Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality.

  • Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement.

  • Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership. 

  • Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in the area of speciality including study days/courses/post-graduate qualification.

  • The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative.

  • Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills.

  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.

Overseas Applicants – Please note that to be considered for this role, you must either be a registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council, an Allied Health Practitioner registered with Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) or meet Nursing and Midwifery Council UK's requirements to be a registered nurse by undertaking and passing either International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or Occupational English Test(OET)

Nursing and Midwifery Council UK's Computer Based Test of competence (CBT)

Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), which can only be taken on arrival in the UK.
