We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced therapeutic radiographer to take up an Advanced Practitioner for Head and Neck radiotherapy position in our friendly team at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre. We are seeking to recruit a HCPC registered Therapeutic Radiographer with expert knowledge of stereotactic radiotherapy, including SRS to lead a local service and deliver national objectives.
The successful applicant will be a local expert for the delivery and development of the Head and Neck service and develop a team of radiographers in the delivery of this service. In addition they will develop good working relationships with all disciplines and operate inter-professionally with the medical staff, oncology physics, nursing and AHPs advising as necessary for each patient.
The Edinburgh Cancer Centre provides a wide range of radiotherapy services for patients from across SE Scotland Cancer Network and operates six Varian linacs, including four TrueBeam, and two linacs with ExacTrak imaging technology, Elekta HDR brachytherapy, Xstrahl superficial x-ray unit and two Philips Big Bore CTSimulators. We are about to install a seventh linac and are planning for the introduction of MRSimulation. The centre utilises advanced techniques including VMAT, IGRT, DIBH, SABR for lung and oligometastatic disease and SRS including the Scottish National Service for benign disease. We are research active and support CPD, furthering education and research activities including expanding our portfolio of clinical trials.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
