Advanced Nurse Practitioner Band 7 / Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner Band 6

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Acute Medical Unit to join the team as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

The ANP role within AMU provides diverse opportunities to contribute to the care of the patient admitted into the ward.  You will work closely with the medical and nursing team to provide advanced high quality and evidence based person centred care to all patients.  The role is diverse with different challenges and there are many opportunities to expand your skills and knowledge. The ability to adapt to different pressures is essential due to the changing environment.

Candidates should have extensive post registration experience, preferably with an Acute Medical background. Ideally you will be working as an ANP currently; applications will be considered with other relevant experience.  You should be able to demonstrate all aspects of the four pillars of advanced practice.

The candidate should have a post grad diploma / MsC in advanced clinical practice and should hold a qualification of independent nurse prescribing or be working towards this qualification.  Candidates will be considered who are working towards this qualification.

AMU is a dynamic and innovative healthcare environment which provides acute and emergency care to patients presenting with a variety of medical conditions, and also encompasses an Ambulatory Assessment Area and Short Stay Medicine. The post-holder will work with a range of services and healthcare professionals across the interface of acute and primary care.

The successful candidate will be a valued and supported team member who will be given opportunities for further learning.  There is an established education programme including reflective sessions which are led by the consultant team and clinical supervision is supported by the medical team.

Unscheduled care, of which the Acute Medicine Unit is part of, sits within the Medicine Division (CCG1) in NHS Tayside.

You will work within a clinical team that values patient safety and the delivery of safe, effective high quality care within a challenging acute assessment environment.

You should be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the NMC of the UK NMC Register.
