Community Psychiatric Nurse with a Special interest in Substance Misuse


Salary Band 6 £37,831 - £46,100 per annum


Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,279 per annum


37.5 hours per week

 We are looking for a highly-motivated, experienced individual to join the Community Mental Health Team in Uist and Barra. Applications are invited from individuals who have a extensive post registration experience working in the area of substance misuse who are seeking to develop their career in a newly developing and challenging service


The successful candidate will be committed to developing and enhancing their clinical skills whilst supporting the wider Community Mental Health Team with an enhanced responsibility to deliver high quality and effective substance misuse service to people predominately in Uist and Barra.


The post holder will assess people where potential mental health, learning disability or other vulnerability need is suspected and advise partner agencies on specific areas of Mental Health, Learning Disability, Substance Misuse needs, and, where relevant the impact on their offending behaviour to help inform appropriate custodial or alternative to custody options.

The successful candidate will be willing to participate in an On Call Rota and provide cross cover if required in Lewis and Harris in the absence of the Liaison and Diversion/Substance Misuse CPN.
