NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

NHS Ayrshire and Arran CAMHS have team bases at Arrol Park Resource Centre in Ayr (South CAMHS), Ayrshire Central Hospital in Irvine (North CAMHS), and North West Kilmarnock Area Centre in Kilmarnock (East CAMHS).  The base for this post will be agreed with the successful candidate, although some working across other bases is anticipated, in order to meet the requirements of Children and Families in Ayrshire and Arran.

There are two positions available. Please clearly state in your application which post(s) you are applying for.

Post 1: This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join the NHS Ayrshire & Arran CAMHS team.  The post-holder will be part of the multi-disciplinary CAMHS neurodevelopmental team, providing specialist assessment and post-diagnostic support for C&YP with neurodevelopmental conditions and their families and carers.

In addition to core work as part of the neurodevelopmental team, this post also offers the opportunity for the post-holder to develop their clinical, research and/or service development skills in a wider area.  The successful candidate will have the option of two sessions dedicated to either: (i) generic work within the CAMHS MDT or within another psychological specialty in NHS Ayrshire & Arran, such as Community Paediatrics or Adult Learning Disability; (ii) research focused upon child mental health and/ or neurodevelopmental conditions; (iii) a clinical specialism, such as Systemic Family Therapy; (v) service development project work.  The focus of these sessions will be agreed with the successful candidate.

Post 2: This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join the NHS Ayrshire & Arran CAMHS team.  The post-holder will be part of both the multi-disciplinary Community CAMHS team, providing specialist assessment and intervention for children and young people who present with complex mental health difficulties, and the multi-disciplinary CAMHS neurodevelopmental team, providing specialist assessment and post-diagnostic support for C&YP with neurodevelopmental conditions and their families and carers.

Base location: base will be confirmed at appointment.

Knowledge, Training and/or experience required to do the job:
