This post provides the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and supervisory experience working in the Oncology and Haematology service based in Ninewells Hospital. You should have demonstrable advanced clinical skills/knowledge in this area of practice, from postgraduate courses/in service, as evidenced in your Continued Professional Development portfolio with comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines / care standards across the speciality. You will have a caseload incorporating patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge, have responsibility for the supervision, education and development of junior staff, physiotherapy support workers and students within the speciality, provide a specialised resource to other healthcare staff/patients/carers and have an active involvement in Clinical Governance and Clinical Effectiveness and Research. The department has strong links with Universities providing student placements primarily from Edinburgh and Aberdeen.


This is an exciting time for a forward thinking HCPC registered Physiotherapist with well developed clinical and communication skills to join us as we continue to expand and develop our Physiotherapy services. This post provides the potential to enhance your knowledge and skills in a busy and fast paced environment with a focus on evidence based assessment and rehabilitation, early supported discharge, multi-professional  integrated working and continued professional development. The post holder will deliver Physiotherapy interventions and develop therapeutic programmes and discharge pathways to meet the needs of the patients referred to the service.


Allied Health Professions are moving to 7 day working and this post will require some weekend working in line with the evidence base and the strategic direction of NHS Tayside.  This is for improved patient outcomes and to maximise a person-centred equitable approach to care. You will also participate in the emergency respiratory on call rota after a period of training.

Hours of work are:  37.5 per week (Part time hours will be considered where worked over 4 or 5 days).
