North CAMHS are looking to recruit a Child and Adolescent Therapist to join a friendly multi-disciplinary Tier 3 CAMHS team, which has good links with early intervention services as well as Education and Social Work. You will deliver psychological therapies to children, young people and their families. You will have a good degree in Psychology and further training and qualifications in the delivery of a psychological therapy. You will be part of the multidisciplinary CAMHS team and work alongside and be supervised by one of the Clinical Psychologists in the team. You will join a group of around 60 Psychologists working in Specialist Children's Services in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board area. You will formulate the nature, causes and maintaining factors of highly distressing psychological difficulties and presentations informed by a broad range of potentially conflicting clinical, theoretical and conceptual models, the empirical, experimental and clinical literature base and the results of assessment. You will communicate such formulations professionally, sensitively and diplomatically frequently in an emotive atmosphere to clients, relatives, carers and other healthcare professionals relevant to the case. You will plan and implement bespoke, formulation-driven psychological interventions, or programmes empathically, sensitively and independently, with a range of children & young people and families/groups of clients and evaluate the impact of such intervention. You should have a Single or Joint Honours degree in Psychology (2:1 or above) and you must have and continue to hold Graduate Basis for Registration (GBR) with the British Psychological Society via qualification recognition or by alternative route. You should have a full understanding of professional level/requirements of role and specialist level knowledge of psychological theory and research with children and young people. The shift pattern for this post is worked between Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm. This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG Scheme.
