The Role
University Hospital Monklands has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic senior pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. This post holder will provide leadership within our dispensary, alongside the senior pharmacy technician, to ensure a high quality service is delivered, including the safe and timely supply of medicines within the hospital. Additionally, they will lead, develop and delivery the clinical pharmacy service within stroke services at the hospital base.
It is an exciting time at University Hospital Monklands with the introduction of Hospital Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (HEPMA) and developing future plans for the replacement of the current hospital site, including a new pharmacy department featuring automation. Also, there are significant changes underway to the education and training of pharmacy professionals and support staff which will shape future roles, including advanced practice for pharmacists.

What we'll need you to bring
Masters of Pharmacy Degree and Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
Continuing Professional Development as detailed by the General Pharmaceutical Council (mandatory requirement)
Postgraduate higher degree/diploma in clinical pharmacy or demonstrable evidence of clinical knowledge equivalent to that.
6 years post registration with a minimum of 4 years post registration clinical pharmacy experience.
Previous experience in delivering training and education at post-graduate level.
Demonstrable use of clinical audit to improve practice.
Thorough and in-depth understanding of hospital pharmacy dispensary services and vision for service development
Experience in patient information/education
Demonstrate advanced level of clinical reasoning and judgement.
Ability to influence senior pharmacy and medical staff the multidisciplinary team and management.
Ability to supervise staff manage and organise staff duties and prioritise work-load and work flow to ensure safe effective and efficient working.
Understanding of national and local priorities.
Ability to identify and manage risks.
Ability to work autonomously and evaluate own work.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a pharmacy and multi-disciplinary environment.
Ensures that the training needs of junior pharmacists working within their area of practices are identified and met.
