We are seeking to recruit 2 dynamic and highly motivated, clinically credible, and experienced nurses from the fields of Mental Health or Intellectual Disability Nursing to undertake the new roles of Senior Nurse, Practice Development and Improvement, within the Royal Edinburgh Hospital and Associated Services (REAS). The post holder will function as an independent autonomous practitioner by virtue of in-depth knowledge, expertise, proficiency and experience.

The aim of these posts is to build capacity and support and facilitate clinical teams to provide a high-quality service through practice developments and improvements, embedding competencies in rights based, trauma informed, person centred clinical nursing practice and treatment, that is safe and effective and informed by a wide range of sources of evidence and feedback. These posts will also include an exciting opportunity to set up and lead a program to support any mental health or learning disability international nursing recruits within REAS to adapt to working in the NHS in Scotland and enable them to achieve the educational and clinical competency requirements to undertake the OSCE and subsequent registration with the NMC.

You should hold:

a current registration with the NMC (Mental Health or Learning Disability nursing) with no restrictions on practice.

A Bachelor Degree in nursing or nursing related subject, and be educated to SQF Level 11, or able to evidence academic progression towards achieving a Masters degree in a professionally relevant subject.

Occasional weekend working is required, and you must be able to travel across clinical sites.
