The Post:
In Public Health Scotland’s Strategy, Governance & Performance directorate, the Strategy & Transformation team is at the heart of Scotland’s national public health body. We lead and support PHS to set and deliver its strategic direction and transform as an organisation to realise its potential.
We are looking to appoint several Project Support Officers who will be based within the Strategy, Governance & Performance directorate but will be deployed across The PHS Portfolio to support various programmes.
Overview of the Portfolio and Programmes:
PHS has developed a new framework to describe all the vital internal and external activity we will carry out to deliver our strategic plan.
This framework is called our PHS Portfolio. It includes 22 cross-organisational programmes.
Transforming Scotland Programmes:
15 of these cross-organisational programmes are externally focused. We refer to these as our Transforming Scotland programmes.
They’ll work to help Scotland thrive by:
• preventing disease
• prolonging healthy life
• promoting health and wellbeing
You will be joining a dynamic team, working to effect change to improve outcomes for people in communities, while contributing to building a culture which focuses on delivering with impact.
The Candidate:
The post-holder should have a Degree in Office Administration or related subject, or equivalent experience working in a busy office environment, including administration of Projects, Programmes and Business as Usual. The candidate should refer to the Person Specification to ensure they meet the essential criteria for this post.
Location and Working Pattern:
The post will be based in either Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Central Quay, Glasgow.
Please note that PHS is currently in the process of relocating from Central Quay, Glasgow to Bothwell Street, Glasgow from spring 2024.
PHS operates a hybrid model, working both at home and in the office.
The work pattern for this post is 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
Part time hours will be considered though it will be important that the candidate is able to attend key meetings.
During times of public health emergency, or other urgent business need, you may be required, on a temporary basis, to work your normal contracted working hours over 7 days including weekends, in order to meet the needs of the service.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with PHS.
