This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacy technician to become a key member of the existing mental health pharmacy team in West Lothian and develop their skills across a variety of mental health specialities. 

The successful will work across both clinical and technical services based at St John’s Hospital, Livingston. The postholder should have an interest in mental health and will work closely with the wider pharmacy and multidisciplinary mental health team to ensure the delivery of high quality of patient care. The role will also participate in the ongoing service development in this role to optimise medicines use, support patient flow, and contribute towards ongoing delivery of the mental health clinical pharmacy service.

Candidates must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), have a Pharmacy Dispensary Checking Technician (PDCT) National Qualification or equivalent and HNC in Pharmacy Services Development and Management or equivalent qualification/experience will be considered. Knowledge and experience of ward-based activities such as one-stop dispensing and assessment of patient’s own medicines would be beneficial.

Applications for part time work may be considered. The post will also be required to support weekend and public holiday rotas as necessary.
