Are you well motivated, highly experienced and thrive with a challenge, this opportunity to work with the Major Trauma team might just be for you.
We are looking for an HCPC registered Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Speech & Language Therapist or Dietician to join the Major Trauma team in Fife. The Fife Major Trauma Service was developed to ensure high quality, safe, effective and person centred care at every stage of the trauma patient’s care and rehabilitation journey. As a Rehabilitation Coordinator, you will play a key role in co-ordinating and managing the care of trauma patients being repatriated from regional and national Major Trauma Centres back to Fife, and for those directly admitted to the Trauma Unit in Fife.
As part of the South East Trauma Network, Fife has a Trauma Unit based at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy. The care and rehabilitation of trauma patients can be delivered in the Trauma Unit, any of the community hospital sites across Fife, or in the community setting. A key aspect of this role will be promoting and facilitating joint working and a collaborative approach for the complex trauma patient’s care and rehabilitation across multiple disciplines. This role offers the right candidate the opportunity to be part of this journey by using advanced clinical, analytical and decision making skills to support and co-ordinate the patient’s entire care and rehabilitation journey. You must be able to work autonomously and be part of an extended multidisciplinary team.
You will work alongside two Rehabilitation Co-ordinators working part time and a Major Trauma Assistant Practitioner. Ensuring continuity over planned leave periods will be essential, so excellent communication and organisational skills are required.
This diverse yet challenging role will see you work as part of a collaborative team across professional, departmental and board boundaries as you support seamless patient-centred care, with a particular focus on rehabilitation. Within agreed guidelines you will also be required to lead in the provision of clinical excellence, expertise, offering advice and support to patients, their carer’s and other health care professionals.
As part of this Fife-wide service, the post holder will work collaboratively with teams across Fife using established repatriation pathways and processes. You will ensure patients and their carers are supported throughout their trauma journey, focussing on a person centred approach which reflects the national standards set by the Scottish Trauma Network. You will also link with regional and national trauma networks ensuring equity of service delivery and continuous development.
The post holder will be based centrally at Glenrothes Hospital and will be managed by the Intermediate Care Manager as part of the wider ICASS (Integrated Community Assessment and Support Service).
