The Clinical Service Manager reports to and is accountable to the Director of Service for the strategic leadership and management of the Pan Lothian Dermatology service (adult and Paediatrics), outpatient services at RIE, RHCYP, RHOPD, Lauriston Building, Site Management of Lauriston Building and leadership of the development and delivery of the reporting mechanisms for all outpatient services across Lothian acute services.
This role will be responsible for the management and control of the relevant Directorate resources (staffing, funding and facilities), Dermatology waiting times, achievement of business performance objectives within quality standards e.g. local and national HEAT targets are achieved), the delivery of high quality and safe care, and contribute to the corporate management of the Division through the formal governance structure.
Responsible for the clinical and operational leadership and management of the Dermatology service for NHS Lothian. This is a regional service with this role leading its development and engagement with other Boards. The management of the Dermatology service spans across all acute sites in NHS Lothian and also in community and primary care.
For services within remit the Clinical Service Manager has a lead role in the strategic planning, the development of business cases and acquisition and deployment of appropriate resources. NHS Lothian is delivering an extensive outpatient modernisation programme for outpatient services and leadership of innovation and change will be a key component of this role.
This post will take the lead role in the Directorate for the development and establishment of processes to collect, monitor, collate, interpret and recommend actions from outpatient services data across all acute sites in Lothian. This will involve the production and presentation of monthly reports and driving forward performance improvement with all specialties delivering outpatient clinics.
Lead responsibility for the engagement in local Dermatology policy development and implementation and engaging in national service development for Dermatology through the Scottish Access Collaborative.
The Clinical Service Manager is responsible for the direct delivery of the clinical services in their portfolio including the redesign and standardising processes which optimise capacity and patient flow across all their services, and ensuring this provision is underpinned by NHS Lothian values and a culture of patient centred care.
Lead the operational site management of Lauriston Building, the organisational master planning for that site and ensuring that all aspects of the site facilities meet organisational standards including site health and safety, capital development and staff wellbeing.

If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
