What you will do:

The Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist post will be core to clinical multi-disciplinary / multi-agency working across in-patient and community teams and to the review, development and delivery of the occupational therapy service.

You will provide evidence based, clinical expertise and leadership in occupational therapy assessment and treatment of people referred to forensic / RISE services who have complex needs. You will ensure that occupational therapy clinical skills are embedded in multidisciplinary service delivery and will lead on the clinical supervision of junior colleagues and students and participate in the delivery of a programme of inter-disciplinary development and training. You will be supported to continue to develop your skills in leadership and quality improvement to ensure service review, development and delivery.

You will develop local and national networks that benchmark services and support the implementation of legislation.

Line management supervision will be provided by the occupational therapy service manager for North Ayrshire. Caseload allocation will be your remit in collaboration with occupational therapy and multi-disciplinary colleagues working in the service. There is an ongoing commitment to provide dynamic professional and clinical supervision within occupational therapy and forensic services which meet our wider staff and service needs. You will provide / be provided with clinical supervision.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

As an Occupational Therapist with current HCPC registeration, you will have a Diploma, Degree or Masters qualification in Occupational Therapy. Post graduate training is required - Masters or clinical equivalent or working towards.

Support and development is promoted and encouraged through a variety of forums including participation in practice development groups, in house and external training.

Hours:

37.5 hours per week

Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

A car driver is essential due to the nature of the role.
