Assistant Practitioner Research Respiratory Medicine
Band 4
22.5 – 30 hours per week
2 Year Fixed Term /Secondment
We are currently recruiting an enthusiastic Assistant Practitioner Research to expand our research activity and deliver on a range of research projects.
This is a unique opportunity to join our team and to develop a wide range of skills and competencies required to deliver research in a fast-paced specialty, that has a focus on the development of new and novel therapies for the treatment of a variety of respiratory diseases.
The post holder will have the potential to work on all the research activities conducted in our extensive portfolio at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The research conducted is a balance between commercially funded studies looking at new medicines and studies funded by academic institutes trying to further understand the disease areas.
The post is based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The main area of focus of the group is COPD, Infection and Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.
The post holder will work closely with the Research Nurse team within respiratory medicine. The post holder will be expected to perform a wide range of skills such as ECG’s, medication administration and sample processing, therefore any applicants must have undertaken Professional Development Award (PDA) (SCQF Level 8). Data management is a key skill in research therefore an eye for detail and computer literacy skills are essential.
