Fixed Term (1 Year)

Locum Specialty Doctor in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

NHS Lanarkshire presents a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative and collaborative large CAMHS service. We are looking to recruit a specialty doctor in child and adolescent psychiatry to NHS Lanarkshire.  The post will be based at Udston Hospital in Hamilton and Airbles Road Child and Family Clinic in Motherwell.

The post sits within a large health board in Scotland which currently has over 70 consultant psychiatrists and 20 specialty doctors and associate specialists in post.  The CAMHS service has undergone significant recent development and enhancement. This has included a Neurodevelopmental Service with clinicians from across Children’s Services which has research links with the University of Glasgow. There have also been system redesigns to enhance patient care such as the expansion of the CAMHS Tier 4 teams.

The Lanarkshire service covers a total population of around 655,000.  It covers a diverse geographical area of large urban areas in the northern part of the county with a large rural area in the southern part of the county.  The service currently receives around 8000 referrals per year.
