Band 2, Band 3 & Trainee Band 3 Positions

NHS Lothian are recruiting Health Care Support Workers and have opportunities available at Band 2, Band 3 and Trainee Band 3 levels. We have an extensive range of specialties, covering a large geographical area.

Band 2 Healthcare Support worker

  • This is an entry-level role and would suit someone looking to get into a health care setting, no experience is necessary, all we ask is you have a passion for patient care who will put patients first! This is a personal care role working to a Band 2 job description.

Band 3 Trainee Healthcare Support worker

  • You will be paid at a Band 2 level, while undertaking educational and clinical competencies to enable you to take on the full range of duties within the Band 3 Job descriptions. Following successful completion of the training program you will progress into the Band 3 pay scale, ideally within 9-12 months of starting.

Band 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker

  • This role is suitable for someone with experience in Health care and or has attained SCQF level 6/7 in a health care related subject. This role encompasses the full duties within the Band 3 Job Description.

    Are you interested in being part of a new and developing team and being influential in changing and developing service for people living at home? Then look no further. Edinburgh and East Lothian District Nursing teams have exciting opportunities for Healthcare Support Workers to join their Hospital to Home teams.

    The Edinburgh and East Lothian hospital to home teams work in partnership with the H&SCP locality teams and in collaboration with NHS Lothian, Primary Care, Voluntary and Third Sector services to support people to stay longer at home. This includes assessing, planning, providing, managing, monitoring, and evaluating nursing care, following best practice to meet the requirements of people with nursing needs in a community setting, including administration of medication, wound management, end of life and palliative care. The team aim to build on capacity within the organisation and provide a service for those patients who have a confirmed start date for provision of care and bridge the gap by facilitating earlier discharge home. In addition, the team support the prevention of admission for patients entering crisis or end of life by providing short term provision of care supporting them to remain at home.

    Please note that candidates interested in this role must hold a UK driving licence, and have access to a car.
