Band 5 Registered Nurse- Elderly Orthopaedic Rehabilitation
This is an exciting opportunity for band 5 Registered Nurses to join an innovative team within Gartnavel General Hospital. Ward 6A are looking for Registered Nurses who are enthusiastic, creative, passionate and have the desire to contribute to best quality, person centred elderly care. The posts are based within an Elderly Orthopaedic Rehabilitation ward.
You will utilise a broad range of skills in the care of this group treating the patient in a holistic manner. Not only treating their main complaint but offering support to their life as a whole when they are discharged home to optimise their quality of life and reducing readmission. Taking into consideration the lifestyle, gender and cultural background of the patient and how this impacts on how they live. Requiring the candidate to work in partnership with the patient and family/carer, as well as, the other fields of the multidisciplinary team. Performing at a high standard of care ensuring all physical and emotional needs are met.
We are looking to recruit Registered Nurses who have an interest in developing skills in dementia, delirium, orthopaedics and palliative care. Dynamic discharge planning is essential for ensuring the patients are cared for throughout and beyond their admission. You will be required to assess patient needs, plan/implement and evaluate care utilising all evidence based knowledge and resources. You will be given support by management, staff team and practice education team to develop the specific skills required for the role.
The shift pattern for this post is 11.5 hour shifts / rotational day & night duty Monday – Sunday however we are able to consider full and part time hours to support our service. You will be provided with mentorship and coaching, as we strongly value and support staff wellbeing and development.
