An exciting opportunity has arisen for a sleep technician to join the Sleep and Ventilation team who provide a diagnostic, treatment and review service supporting a caseload of 3,500 patients reliant on ventilation and CPAP across NHS Highland and NHS Western Isles. This 18.75 hr post will support the current sleep technician, specialist nurses and nurse consultant in supporting individuals with sleep-related breathing disorders
This service sits within the Respiratory Unit at Raigmore Hospital supporting patients both in hospital and at home. The post holder will be responsible for ordering, supplying and managing of consumables, responding to the patient telephone support system and programming/downloading of diagnostic sleep equipment. Following a period of training the post holder will be expected to set up sleep studies remotely and in the nurse-led diagnostic clinic.
This role requires knowledge of various software systems to include e-mail, word processing, PECOS, data inputting and patient management systems. Training and support will be provided on sleep management software.
