This post is available from February 2024 based in the Glasgow Renal and Transplant Unit at the new Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow for 6 months in the first instance.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain or extend your clinical experience in all aspects of clinical nephrology, haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. There will also be an opportunity to gain experience of looking after patients following renal transplantation.
The Renal Unit currently supports approximately 600 haemodialysis patients, 50 peritoneal dialysis patients, 900 renal transplant patients and more than 200 patients per year with acute kidney injury requiring renal replacement therapy. 150 new renal transplants are performed each year. All renal inpatient services in Glasgow are based in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where there are 50 dedicated nephrology beds and 15 renal transplant/surgery beds, along with a day area and renal assessment area. The successful candidate will join a very friendly, motivated team and will participate in the renal on call rota with an appropriate banding supplement.
Previous nephrology experience and MRCP is preferable but not essential.
