NHS Lothian Pharmacy & Medicines Service

Data/Information Analyst

Band 6, 1.0 wte, 37.5 hours – Permanent

Salary £37,831 - £46,100

NHS Lothian covers Edinburgh city, East Lothian, Midlothian, and West Lothian. We are the second largest health system in NHS Scotland and one of only four teaching Boards. We have strategic partnerships with local Universities, Local Authorities and our four Integration Joint Boards. We serve a population of 900,000, providing a range of primary, community based and acute hospital services. We also provide regional and national services across a range of clinical specialties.

The vision for the Pharmacy & Medicines Service is to deliver clinically led, person-centred services to ensure patients across Lothian get the best from their medicines and pharmacy services.  We are focussed on creating an environment where each person in the team has the opportunity to flourish, develop and make best use of their skills.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data/Information Analyst to join our new Pharmacy Business Function team established following recent service transformation. This new role is critical in ensuring core data is readily available and accurate to support business function and will be a key contributor shaping the delivery of the pharmacy programme of transformational change.

Building on our existing processes, we’re looking for someone to help modernise the supply of management information through analytical and visualisation tools. Consistent attention to detail and good organisational skills are essential. The postholder will need to be highly numerate and have experience of analytical techniques and working with complex datasets.

With strong interpersonal and communication skills you will be educated to SCQF level 9, e.g., degree in business, numerate or statistical analysis related subject, or significant equivalent level of experience.  You must show initiative and prioritise work, manage your own workload and maintain high standards with excellent attention to detail. Experience in data systems projects, data management and interrogation are essential. Knowledge and experience of the NHS would be advantageous.
