The shift pattern is rotational day and night work over 7 days.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to Join the Neonatal Nursing team within the Neonatal Unit at The Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.  The Neonatal Unit provides Level 2 care to patients and their families within Greater Glasgow and Clyde areas and work in collaboration with other Neonatal Units in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, which provide Level 3 care.

As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programs of care, and/or the implementation and evaluation of these programs ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients and their families. In the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse or deputy, provide cover to ensure the effective operation of the clinical area. You must be a registered nurse, registered child’s nurse, registered midwife. Experience in the field of Neonatal nursing would be an advantage, but not essential.

You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to family-centred care, continuing professional development, an understanding of our service, and the specific needs of our patients and their families. You will be able to demonstrate evidence of ongoing clinical development and awareness of NHSGGC policies and strategies.  A sound clinical knowledge of medical conditions in neonatology would be desirable.  The ability to organise and prioritise workload is essential.
