CONSULTANT PHYSICIAN with a SPECIALIST INTEREST
(1 post, 10PAs) BASED AT PERTH ROYAL INFIRMARY
An exciting opportunity has arisen, as a replacement post, to join the dynamic, cohesive team of Physicians based Perth Royal Infirmary as a Consultant Physician. Perthshire is in the heart of Scotland and combines both city centre life and the ability to flee to the countryside within a very short drive. The scenery here is some of the best in the UK and lifestyle is very affordable with a range of excellent schools in the local area.
Applications are invited for the above position, which combines General Internal Medicine in Perth Royal Infirmary and sub-speciality sessions delivered in Perth Royal Infirmary and/or Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.
We are looking for a new colleague to help us deliver excellent medical and sub-specialty care to our vibrant District General Hospital with opportunities for sub-specialty interests across NHS Tayside. Perth Royal Infirmary has a 1 in 11 Acute Medical Receiving rota which includes weekend and overnight on-call. In addition, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to take part in postgraduate training, running MRCP PACES exams and education (undergraduate & postgraduate) along with opportunities to collaborate in research, and quality improvement.
The successful applicants will contribute to General Internal Medicine in-patients, including their specialty, in Perth Royal Infirmary in ‘hot blocks’ with the rest of the time, dedicated to specialty work.

The delivery of safe and effective care is achieved by a collaborative approach to managing unscheduled demand across acute services, our 3 Health & Social Care Partnerships, Primary Care and partner agencies such as NHS 24 and Scottish Ambulance Service. NHS Tayside’s Unscheduled Care Board has representatives from all key areas and services and acts as a forum for learning, discussion and the identification of a joint vision and a shared set of priorities.
Candidates should possess MRCP and be on the GMC Specialist Register in General Internal Medicine or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of CCT or CESR (CP) at the time of interview for the post.
