An opportunity has arisen for Band 3 Health Care Support Workers within the Multi-disciplinary Addiction Teams (Glasgow Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services). Based within the South of the city, you will work under the supervision of our trained nurses, supporting the engagement and retention of vulnerable service users who use alcohol and/or drugs and who may have complex health and social needs. Care will be delivered in clinical areas across 4 sites and within the home environment. Outreach visits to homeless accommodation and rehabilitation facilities may also be required. Applicants will have good communication skills and have a keen desire to work within a Specialist Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service. Successful applicants will receive training and development to enable them to deliver a range of interventions which include venipuncture, drug toxicology screening, Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) testing, ECG’s and Blood Bourne Virus (BBV) testing. Proficiency in use of IT is essential to the role; although training will be provided on use of the departments electronic systems.
