Band 7 AfC – Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist (Stoma Care)

Primary Care

BASE/LOCATION: Allermuir Health Centre and Pennywell All Care Centre

Full time hours - 37.5 per week - part time hours will be considered and will be pro rata

Fixed term: 18 months

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior nurse specialist to work within the NHS Lothian primary care pharmacy team to lead and deliver high quality, safe and cost-effective stoma prescribing. The postholder will be responsible for implementing cost-effective prescribing recommendations from  the National Stoma Care Cost and Quality Review (2016) to ensure best practice and minimise unwarranted variation.

Who you are:

You are a self-motivated, driven and enthusiastic, NMC registered nurse with experience in the management of stoma patients.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support patient care and be able to work autonomously whilst linking closely with GP practice teams.   You will promote NHS Lothian's values of quality, teamwork, care and compassion, dignity and respect, and openness, honesty and responsibility. You will have experience of involvement in the development and education of others.

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
