An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 30 hour band 5/6 development Community Mental Health Nurse (CMHN)  post within the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team to join an established and welcoming Older Adult Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) in Wigtownshire.

The post holder will deliver a range of mental health assessments, treatments, education and support and will be working with adults who have mental health problems. The focus will be on promoting self care and recovery whilst enabling people with mental health problems to be as independent as possible. The post holder must be able to organise and manage a caseload whilst contributing to service development.

Team priorities include collaborative working, appropriate liaison, delivery of group therapy, care assurance and patient self management. The successful candidate will be based within the CMHT base at Innistaigh and will be expected to travel within the area. The post holder will work in partnership with people, carers, families and other agencies across the Wigtownshire locality. This post will provide opportunity for personal development and growth in a friendly, experienced and supportive team.

Full supervision, mentoring and training will be provided.
